Strategy and Organisational Behaviour Consulting?

Am currently trying to find a position that suits my background. A BSc in Economic Geography (2:1, Soton) and a masters in Management, Durham together with my current course, MSc Org.Psych at the LSE. Am very keen to get involved with a firm that allows me to link all three, .ie. the link between OB/Strategy but on a global scale.

Want to work for two years before doing a PhD in Organisational Behaviour (and then returning to consulting) but am finding it hard to find a firm able and willing to accept these criteria. Do any exist or am I being too ambitious given the current state of the job market?

Stuart - it is much easier to dictate your terms once you are inside a consulting firm and have proven yourself a valuable asset. At this point taking a sabbatical for further studies, gaining sponsorship, etc are all possible. However, making all these demands up front - when there are so many good candidates in the market to compete against - is likely to be harming your chances. I'd advise just trying to get into one of the firms should be your only objective. Best of luck, Tony Restell
