Right age for the MBA

Hi,

I'm a 28 years old technology consultant with a degree in computer engineering. I'm getting hired form Accenture as a Consultant. I wanted to take an MBA but, now, I think it's better to take it next year. So I will start it at the age of 30 and finish when I'll be 31 years old. I'll be too old for management consulting? It would be better to do the MBA this year (after only 6 months of experience in Accenture and 2 years in an other firm)?

This is no question of age - this is a question of your vision. Would you like to work in a consulting firm - than you must study. Would you like to work for your own pocket without hierachy - than is no need.

You are in the best age to realize your vision and not the vision of Accenture.

I think there is no right or wrong age. If you want to stay working with Accenture and obtain an MBA try organisations such as the Open University. I have finished my MBA in three years by distance education and must say the course material was very up-to-date and of excellent quality. The health warning is that it is hard work to combine both consulting and an MBA by distance education, but it's do-able. Good luck.
