MBB - Associate/Consultant Lateral Hire - Negotiating Salary

Hello all,

I just received an offer for a regional office of an MBB (Small but quickly growing). They have communicated an offer to me which was a bit lower than expected (from the guide below).

While I understand that regional offices may be paid a bit lower, do I have any wiggle room to point to this study as I will be going in at the same level? I will be taking a significant pay cut and plan to communicate my hopes of this bump amicably, but am unsure due to several online posts being very against negotiating salaries.

You might begrudgingly squeeze another grand out of them, but I doubt they're going to completely revisit their payscales.

Understood, I've heard some crazy numbers for satellite offices, but assume they may be for local talent at the analyst level.

Here's to hoping that they are somewhat in line with post-mba offers in more developed offices.
