Boat for sale - lying Chelsea Harbour - ideal crash pad / pied a terre

#1 Boat for sale - lying Chelsea Harbour - ideal crash pad / pied a terre

Hi all

I'm selling my boat which is moored in central London and thought it might be of interest to a consultant who regularly works in London.

Montmarency is currently lying in Chelsea Harbour which is an excellent Central London stay-aboard mooring with good transport links and toilet, shower and laundry facilities for boat owners. The mooring is not included in the sale - ongoing mooring will have to be applied for by the purchaser separately to the Harbour Management team prior to the sale - details on request. The mooring is not residential but would make a great London pied-a-terre / crashpad.

Broom Supreme Commander 42 – Built in 1946 with mahogany on oak frames, Montmarency is a beautiful boat that attracts attention wherever she goes!

The quality traditional interior provides spacious accommodation with good headroom.

From the stern: The galley has a sink, new gas cooker with hob and oven, a large fridge/freezer and microwave. The spacious saloon has a 6’ fitted sofa which converts to a bed and a large folding table. There is ample storage space. Heating is by a Webasto diesel-fired system and also by electric heaters when connected to shore power. An additional single cabin is ideal for overnight guests or could be converted to a small office.

Going up the steps, there is a large wheelhouse with seating for 6 and a retractable roof that folds completely flat in minutes to let you enjoy the sunshine while you sail her – and to fit under any very low bridges she comes across.

Heading forward, the double bedroom is large with a good hanging wardrobe space, full size double bed, and an additional single bed. In the bow is the wet room including, a shower with good water pressure, hand basin and electric toilet.

The boat has been regularly slipped (most recently in July 2013) and the hull is in good condition. There is a good Volvo Penta 4 cylinder diesel engine which is regularly serviced, 3 leisure batteries, an inverter and a generator. She is very easy to handle with plenty of power, and the central wheelhouse means it is easy to navigate locks single-handed if necessary.

Any questions, please let me know!

Uhhh, this is a forum for management consultants - you know, those guys that work long hours, get shat on by clients, and get paid a pittance. The ones who typically drive Renault Meganes and Skoda Octavias, not Aston Martins and Bentleys. The ones who have 8x salary mortgages and live in 3 bed terraces houses in Putney, not Covent Garden penthouse suites during the week and 15-bedroom country retreats at the weekend. The forum for investment bankers is that way ----->

The fact that the OP cannot identify viable customers is probably one of the reasons the boat is up for sale... ;)

I had to laugh at this and actually looked up what type of boat it is as I am in the market for one currently - not what I'm looking for though. :-) sorry BEP and I'M definitely not a banker and @ Mars the bloke was near with his target market but no cigar.

Hehe - hopefully I'm not too far away from the target market. I've been a consultant for 15 or so years and would def consider keeping her if I wasn't moving away from London completely.

Just realised I forgot to add the price. Doh! £68k. Can't seem to figure out how to edit the post though...

Cheers

They vary depending on location, type of mooring. £460ish / month for my 42ft-er in Chelsea, about double that for a fully residential mooring in Limehouse Basin. South Dock marina is cheaper as its local authority-run, but they have a waiting list at least a few years long!

I was previously living on a smaller boat (30 ft) on a fully residential mooring nr Twickenham - that was about £290.
