I have spent 20 years now in consulting across the big 4.

Maybe I need a change now.

Could anyone let me know the pros and cons of going independent.

Thx

If you need a change going freelance is not very imaginative ... could be a stepping stone though I guess ...

I've heard good things about Eden Mccallum and spoke to them a couple of times when I was thinking about leaving full-time consulting. They were very helpful in talking through the pros and cons- maybe give them a call? (FYI I have no association with them and I did not end up working with them in the end)

I used to work for McKinsey in London and have started a blog with advice on how to get into consulting. Find it here: www.theconsultingcoach.com

Freelance management consultancy has good potential to grow and forward the professional career. As per my personal experience, we can grow fast in this field provided we update our technical skills and knowledge to tune up latest trends. Nano management is the latest in the market of expertise; it includes expertise in nano management like Business Transformation, Problem Solving, Strategy, Innovation. D4 Innovation Method, Design for Six Segma, Triz Theory and Design for Lean are latest technologies.
