I am a student doing dome research on knowledge management, i was wondering if you could answer some questions for me.

What value have you created from implementing knowledge management?

Has it given you a competitive advantage?

Why is it important? How important is it? How do you implement it?

Knowledge management can leverage many business & managementprocesses in a company :

=> Electronic repositories allow business units to access quickly

updated datas

=> Expertise is maintained in the company

=> Manufacturing cycle are reduced dramatically (I've seen time

savings > 25% for some sectors /products)

=> Monitoring your assets and where Company fails becomes more

easy

Obviously, Technology is important for knowledge management, but what is critical (like a lot of other IT strategy cases), is to align organization with.

Concerning implementation, I cannot help U....I'm just a high-level consultant who delivers "best of breed" e-biz / IT strategies :-))
