Offers from Accenture Strategy and a high growth boutique

Erebos

Hi, found this forum while trying to decide between several offers. I've read through a ton of posts but didn't find exactly what I was looking for, so here goes:

I'm a fresh grad in Denmark, and have received job offers from Accenture Strategy and a high growth boutique consulting firm specializing in SCM. I'm at a loss over which one to choose, as both seem great. Compensation is similar, base higher in Accenture, bonus higher in the boutique.

I basically have two questions:

1. Anyone have experience with the culture in Accenture Strategy in the nordics? I've gotten the impression from threads here and elsewhere that the laddering is less than fair, and that there's a lot of internal competition. Didn't get this impression in the interviews however.

2. Will I be limiting my options if I join the boutique firm? It's growing fast, so there should be better options of advancing to senior consultant or manager level fast. I'm a bit afraid of starting out with a too narrow focus.

I'd appreciate any thoughts you have!

fast growing boutique for me every time. Accenture is a good name for a graduate CV and will give you lots of training, but you will be a cog in the machine.

You are young (and based on your two offers, successful, smart, etc). While you have limited family responsibilities. live a little and take a risk that might pay big dividends.

Thank you for your input! I decided to go with the boutique firm, as I believe I can advance there really fast and the culture was more to my liking.
