How much were you making in UK when you were 25 and 30 years old?
|
@25yr - 37k (1st year as a MC).
Let you know when I get to 30.
|
Not sure point of thread but for some perspective I was earning more than that with less hours and more fun in mid nineties at a telco plus that's after zero education past 16. Remember there are ways of earning money that don't revolve around consulting.
|
You can't work out historical income from 25v.
You can only calculate CURRENT income; and that depends on levels of resistance
One for the physicists......
|
I'm not sure what perspective you're trying to give me here. Despite the fact you don't possibly know whether it was "less hours and more fun", I also don't see it as a shocker that someone in the workplace from 16 would be earning more at 25 that a uni graduate. It makes sense doesn't it?
Anyway, thanks for letting me know there are other ways to make money. Next you're going to be telling me there's more than one way to skin a cat...
|
Thank you for your point of view. However I was hoping to understand the situation in consulting.
|
Lol.....fair enough I know analysts could have lots of fun but I also know hours will be higher.
Consultants get wrapped up in how much money they earn, or could earn, not realising they are getting paid less per hour given their possible 60+ hours per week.
I should know I spent 18 years+ across EY, KPMG and ACN before taking "early retirement" and working just for me.
And there's only one way to skin a cat - follow the process.

Ohhhh go on then...
Assuming promotions....
30 - 65-75k base
35 - 90-110k base
40 - 130k+ base
keep it real....

everybody has unique financial, lifestyle, and career situations.

Want to know something?
UK and even London pay levels are actually pretty low. Even more so when you contrast with cost of living.
