I have a formal offer from IBM for a Managing Consultant position Band 8. Salary seems pretty decent, and a 20% jump over my current salary, but I would be losing a week's worth of vacation time from my current job, and their annual 401K matching is not something I find appealing at all. My current employer matches quarterly, so in my opinion, those factors make the job a bit less desirable than my current one.
My question is has anyone successfully countered IBM's salary offer? If so, by how much?
If not, are other "benefits" negotiable, such as vacation time, bonus, car allowance, etc? What about negotiating coming in at a higher band (9 versus 8)?

Everything is always negotiable. Even the price of that cart of groceries you pick up at Walmart is negotiable. The question is, do thy value you enough to be willing to neogtiate?

Hi, can I ask a question? How long have u been since u got the oral offer to the official offer letter? I was being told creating the offer for half month, so much nervous, lol. Thank you very much. And for my research on negotiable of offer in IBM, it mostly impossible...
