For the past 6 months I have been thinking of moving into consulting. I have spent 8 years in the manufacturing sector as an office manager. Then when I finished uni I spent 4 years as a lawyer. 3 years ago I changed my profession to procurement (focusing on the preparation of contracts and procurement templates as well as various sourcing activities) for a large energy company in Western Australia (I am still working for this company).
I am hoping to move to London later this year and want to work as a procurement consultant.
Could anyone recommend any specific consultancy firms and/or whether I would apply as a consultant, manager or senior manager?

I think you are more likely to get an offer for a senior consultant, rather than a manager. I would have thought that if you then "hack it" in consulting, you will get promoted to manager fairly swiftly. If you can't "hack it", then you will stay at SC for a couple of years and leave to go back into industry.
Clearly, I know nothing about you and this is merely based on your paragraph above.

how about you take my role in management consulting (procurement) and i'll have your job/life in Australia?

There's no "set number of years" to get promoted to manager. And, I think more importantly, "Manager" is merely a grade. you will be doing plenty of management at SC level.
I am currently working "near" a programme where the project lead is an SC managing about 15 people below him/her.

Wow! Well, I guess if I get an ST position, it will some element of managing a team (but without the salary). I have an interview scheduled with Boston Consulting and Accenture when I arrive in August.
Out of these companies would you recommend one over the other? (Obviously I may only get one job offer -or none).

boston is very well regarded for strategy
accenture is very well regarded for IT related strategies
i guess it depends on whether you want to go into IT or do broader organisational stuff.
i think the lifestyle at boston might be more demanding in terms of hours and travel but not sure so probably worth checking
