MBA earnings potential - Contract basis???

I've 27 years experience in Highways Business - 17/10/4 years with public sector/private sector engineering consultant/public sector resectively, now majoring on traffic information and making better use - I recently acquired MBA (part-time distance learning)

Questions:

1)What would be realistic hourly and rate? Top consultant quote £300 to £700 per day - where am I liklely to sit within this range

2)Could I realistically expect to be employed 220 days per year at this rate if not what would be realstic?

3)Realistic typical length of contract? - days, weeks, months, years

4)Potential problems with transition from public sector and how to overcome these?

5) With what type of organisation do most opportunities arise?

6) How bouyant is the current market and is this expected to last?
