Dan

I am soon to begin working as a public sector consultant and was wondering if anyone could recommend any books on consultancy, or other material, to read before starting?

Hi Dan, would probably depend on the area you're consulting in e.g. Change, Customer Relationship Management etc.

A decent starting point for general consultancy is "Practical Management Consultancy" by Calvert Markham which is recommended by the IMC. Kev

I would go for 'Managing the Professional Service Frim' by David Maister for understanding of how the industry works.

I'd go for a recently written tome called "Rip Off!"
