LogicaCMG - your views

I have the option of joining LogicaCMG as a graduate, but am concerned their starting salary is low in comparison to what appears to be graduate market average. (21 vs. 23-30 with other players such as ibm, acn, atos, cap...)...

are they a well respected firm in the market? specifically within public sector / defence?

what are career prospects like? (responsibility and renumeration)

what is work/life balance like?

your views are much appreciated

The work life balance at Logicacmg is respected and only once in a while does one have to work a significant amount of overtime. Overtime does not tend to be paid unless the client has agreed to pay it.

In my opinion people who work there are nice and haven't encountered people stepping on each other to get ahead.

In my experience managers will always be looking after their financials first so there is the eternal struggle between keeping one's utilisation rates up (i.e. keeping manager happy by taking any role that comes up including admin type ones) and waiting/hoping for a role that develops your career (and getting pressure from manager that utilisation rate is low).

Not sure how that compares to other consultancies.
