Accenture Application

Hi,

I am currently filling out the Accenture application form, which is the same whether you wish to go in to Operating Groups, Technology, and Outsourcing.

For the question "describe your understanding of what an analyst does?" would I write what an analyst does in each of these three sectors or would i write about just one - the one I wish to go into.

But are you expected to have an idea where you want to go at such an early stage?

Having filled it out (and getting through for a UK Summer Internship), I put generally what analysts get up to, regardless of operating group. Which I encapsulated in the fact that it's a very hands on and operational position.

So glad I wasn't the only one who thought this was a crappy question!! How should we know what they do in a typical day? As I understand it, I think it's a question geared toward your specific area of interest rather than general. And having spoken to a few employees at a presentation in London last week, I gather there is no such thing as an average day. There's is a breakdown of what each job entails on the website. Hope I'm ok - submitted application two days ago!

They want to make sure people don't have a false perception of what the job entails (e.g. sitting in a boardroom with senior execs drinking cherry cola).
