Hi all - I'd welcome your thoughts/experiences of IBM BCS, particularly coming in as an experienced hire (> 6 yrs eng/asset mgmt) - what is the usual recruitment process once an on-line application has been submitted (interview # & structure, how long the process takes)? The range & calibre of opportunities look very promising - is this your experience? Appreciate your help.

I worked for PwC and then IBM for 7 years. The culture is terrible. Abysmal pay rises, no bonuses, very little training, and a hostile aggressive culture. The Financial Management area has a staff attrtition rate of 40% this year, as people are leaving in their droves for E&Y, Deloitte, and PA consulting.

In short: avoid !!!

Thanks for sharing your experience and advice, certainly sounds like things aren't going well in Financial Mgmt area. Is your experience with PwC/IBM mainly in UK or other countries too?

If other readers have the same or different experience of IBM, I'd welcome your comments, we tend to hear a lot about Accenture and other major players on this forum but haven't seen much about IBM...any tips/inside perspectives much appreciated. Many thanks.

Ex IBMer now very happy elsewhere

Hi. I completly agree. I was at PwC and then IBM and found IBM treated its employees pretty badly, offered little or no training (the few days I had was poor quality), paid badly and generally made their employees feel bad! My ex colleagues are deserting it in droves. Sorry to paint a bleak picture but I would suggest you look elsewhere. And this is across IBM BCS not just Financial Management.
