I'd really like to be making this decision on the basis that the salary differences are negligible but I'm wondering if in the medium -term (<5yrs) Deloitte will be considerably worse.
Accenture are offering 28.5 + 10 bonus over 2 years : 33.5k pa / 2 yrs
Deloitte are offering 30.5 + 0.5 (benefit allowance -- hookers?)+ 1.5k bonus 1st year i.e. 32.5k pa for first year. No mention of 2nd year salary.
So, does anyone know what expected 2nd year salary is likely at Deloitte?
My gut feeling left me more impressed by Deloitte - interview much harder and by senior partner. Beyond this, what I can gather is that at Acn I may well end up working longer hours+more coding, but they give 30 vs. 20 days holiday pa. Certainly tales abound of Accenture taking their pound of flesh, but I’d be surprised if Deloitte weren’t similar.
I also worry that taking on 600+ UK graduates this year (what Accenture told me) smacks of dot-com bravura. Deloitte are taking 60.
If anyone actually working or who has worked recently at either of these firms could confirm or disabuse the above notions I would be most grateful. So much information is repeated hearsay (as my opinions are above) I would really value genuine inside information.
Many thanks,
Tom
