Mark

HI, I have a first round interview coming up with PA for a Grad Consulting position, can anyone give me any tips for this round, what to expect etc which is not mentioned on the web site? How can I best prepare? Any tricky things I might be asked? Any help is very much appreciated, thanks Mark

Hi Mark, I've got a 1st round interview coming up with PA this Thursday, if yours is then I might see you (mine is with the IS Integration practice). As far as the assessment goes, I think its a short interview and the ususal verbal & numerical tests. The interview is most likely to be part competancy / past experience, part case study &/or familiarity with technology/business integration. Jon

Yeah, mine is this thurs at 2-4 in London but for the IT Infrastructure Practise. Any idea how knowledge we should have on the company? Snowed under at uni at the moment but don't want to blow it by not knowing enough?

Cool. Have you been on other interviews for similar consultancies? Ive done the rounds this year: Accenture, Deloitte, IBM (twice), Fujitsu (too many by far!) and also feeling very loaded up with uni work. I hope that at this 1st round stage you dont need to know too much about the company. Probably the usual: competitors, place in market, integration of outsourcing into the consulting side, training that is offered, etc. At IBM and Fujitsu I was given a PPoint presentation of important company info early in the day so with any luck we might get something similar..... If not, its over to their website to do some cramming on weds night! Jon

Hi, so how did you get on? I asked the guys that were in the tests with me and they said that you had just left. I got through to the next round next Thurs but I suppose that is practice specific so prob wont see you there anyway. Hope all went well and you got through, good luck for the next round, if not it looks like you've got quite a few other options in the pipeline to look at. Im also through to next round with Accenture in a few weeks but thats it. Not too sure which one id pick if I was lucky enough to get offered both, which would you chose? Mark

Hi Mark, congratulations on getting though. Ive not heard yet (fingers very very crossed!). I felt like it went well, but that feeling's been proved wrong in the past.... lets see. Weird/cool that we almost met: Ive got one more company to 1st round interview for, but Ive used up most of my options for this recruiting season - kinda wish I'd taken more interview practice before I started it all, cos I know I could've interviewed better at Deloite and Accenture... I was very impressed by PA, seems that they aren't nearly as flashy as Accenture - much more businesslike - so I think if I were fortunate to be offered both I would go for PA. Good luck for the 2nd round, I might join you in your thread at the top of the page if I get though (here's hoping!) Jon
