Hi,
Does anyone know of firms that do quant consulting in London? I've found d-fine (not sure how big they are in London...), but there doesn't seem much else. Anyone got any ideas/inside knowledge?

Surely all quant work is done in-house?

EY has a quant team in Risk Advisory

Detica, SAS, experian, FICO, jay wing....all these firms employ quants and stats people, though they mainly do retail banking risk work, not IB quants.
|
Possibly also Oliver Wyman? Not sure how hands on hey get?
|
EY and OW definitely not. Most are contractors, take a look at confluentia (hope spelling is correct), currently working with them

fine, thx for clarifying.

if you are a decent quant, there is little point joining a consultancy - join a bank or go contracting. i worked with a contract credit modeller last year who had been picking up 3000 a day for 18 months at the same bank (and one not known for its high rates - his day rate was slightly more than the Deloitte partner was billing).
