Having attended a Big 4 Experienced hire assessment centre, I was told I'd hear back in about 4 days.
I got a call 2 days later to be told it's looking positive, but still awaiting a decision from the business.
It's now 7 days, and still waiting and hoping.
Is this common?
Does anyone know what would cause such a delay in making a decision?

who with?
and are you with an agency or direct?
I went through this with one of the 'Big4' a few years ago, turns out they liked me but were unable to secure an internal business case as I'm expensive and there was no obvious work on the horizon...
if you are in a rush push them as to why the delay.

Deloitte.
I wouldn't say I'm super expensive...
It's just mind-screwing as to why it's taking so long.
Is it a good idea to assume that no news is good news?
Oh and I went direct - not via an agency.

In my case, it took about 5 days to confirm that I'd be getting an offer and then another week until the actual offer came through.
I don't think you can read much into it - give your contact in recruitment a call.

My process has been seriously slow but I got an offer - wouldnt read anything in to it, they just generally seem to not be a speedy team!
I have been told the Jan induction days are now full so would be late Feb/early March start now..?

Quite surprised the Jan inductions are all taken up.
I'm attending the first Jan induction actually - as at a few weeks ago, there seemed to be loads of options available.
