How do I explain wanting to quit a position after 2 months?

I have been with my company for 10-1/2 years. I got a promotion at the same company but at a different location and I hate it. The attitudes there are awful and it is a really miserable atmosphere. I see the management constantly telling the associates what they are doing wrong but never praising them for what they do right. I loved my old job but they have already filled the position otherwise I'd go back.

How do I explain this in an interview without sounding like I am bashing the company or its staff? I've had the luck in the past of loving my jobs and the people, so this is new to me.

So you are quitting a new position at your company of 10 'and a half' years after 2 months? Why are you singling out the 2 months in this new role - wont it just be moving out after 11 years at the company?

Although I have been with the company for 10-1/2 years. I've been in my current position for 2 months. How do I explain quitting so quickly after taking on a new role is what I am trying to figure out. I want to find something similar to the position I'm in now. Almost all my previous positions do not have anything to do with what I am currently doing.

it is perfectly acceptable to leave on the basis that your development with the company is going in a direction you dont want, or location is proving to be wrong etc. Simply explain that this latest promotion was moving you away from your sweet spots and the location was wrong.

I suspect that you are being more worried about the short stint than objectively you should be. Prospective employers will not worry about your commitment whatsoever after spending a decade with a single employer.

As said by the previous poster, leaving 2 months into a new role at the company you have been with for almost 11 years will not be an issue. You need not even say out loud that you are leaving because of this new role or role change or whatever - honestly, it is quite insignificant in front of the years you have spent with your employer.

It may be the reason you want to leave but that need not be the reason you give at interviews right? People get bored and quit companies in less than half the time you have spent so dont worry about the 2 months

Definitely no need to worry at all I would say. You have worked at one place for a decade, that does not happen often! Listen to your heart and find something that suits you. With your experience, you are sure to find a good new position. Good luck!
