Serco, the outsourcing company, has been recruiting consultants from the big players for th last 2 years and I've just been approached - what's it like there?

It's growing fast with great people, mainly from the big firms. Great atmposphere and prospects - it's exciting. They pay well too.

Big Nev - Ha ha - I'm not the marketing director - I wish I was, he's quite well paid! I was actually being serious in my previous posting....

Howie - I would leave well alone, there is much confusion over what the aim/role of the consulting business is:

Is it to provide pre-sales support to the outsourcing business?

If it is then this is a low end sales role so avoid.

Is it to provide high end independent client side advice?

If it is then this will always be compromised by the (supply side) outsourcing arm of the organisation, so avoid.

Hope this helps.......

I don't share the confusion. We've just aquired French-Thronton whose consultants seem to have a big issue getting their heads round what we do, but I see this as an exciting small (but growing) consulting firm with work as good or better than I have had elsewhere
