Industry vs Consulting

#1 Industry vs Consulting

The perennial question I know - moving from Industry into Consulting....

I have 7+ years at large blue chip, all in the so-called 'internal consulting' roles and worked on large scale transformation programmes....etc etc. I've simply had enough and want to make the move into Consulting (been thinking of this for at least the last 4 years but now is the right time - or so I think).

Anyway - curious to hear your views on:

- what level should 7/8 years at industry get you in at (ACN, Cap etc)

- typical salary jump?

- work/life balance: is it standard to assume Monday - Friday away.

Thanks for your thoughts...
