first interview with CG VP beginning of May - I have 12 years industry experience in FMCG - any advise ? I live in Austria and going especially to London for this interview !

their big FMCG accounts are an alcoholic drinks distributor in Woking and a lung cancer distributor on the Strand. both the TS and CS divisions sell into them (and squabble over the delivery); you don't say which you are interviewing with. coming from industry you should be aiming at a sector role rather than one of the capabilities, in which case you need to demonstrate to the VP your industry depth and network of contacts, and what you r personal value proposition is (ie on what basis can they introduce you personally in order to help the client distribute more lung cancer / inebriate more teenagers)

thanks geeza - what do you mean by sector vs capability ? Do you have any insight on packages ? what should i be planning on ? If i end up reporting to vp - would this be a principal/director role - ie. T9 ? or C5 ? Thanks sir!

You're not going to come in at C5 without serious consulting experience. Expect to come in at C3 level

At C5 you would be expected to scope, sell, and deliver reasonably large jobs. Not as easy as it sounds

eyee's right, and I'm out of date on packages but to your other question .... sectors are industry-specific (or collections of insutry focus areas) whereas capabilities are cross-industry functional specialisms (eg IT advisory, finance, supply chain etc). the original idea was that the sectors would sell and the capabilities deliver, and be measured respectively on sales and utilization; but when the sectors were given higher utilization targets they recruited delivery people and it all became a bit of a muddle
