That is really getting old.

If you were serious it's "BAH - RING - GA"

On a serious note, I have seen a lot of big4/big6 consultants move over to Baringa and every one has had positive feedback so far.

Having seen them take on ex-Accenture Partners and a large percentage of Accenture consultants, I'm told the aim was to take everything good about Accenture and drill it into a smaller team where you can make a much bigger impact. There is a lot more responsibility on your shoulders from Day 1 so the potential for career progression is tenfold.

During an intervierw, one candidate of mine referred to Accenture as "too big, too impersonal, too rigid" and then listed advantages of a boutique firm. He was offered the job (not as a direct result) but his recognition of the culture change at Baringa whilst maintaining a high level of project work was clear.

I think a rough guide of salary would be; 60-80k Consultant, 80-105k Manager, 105k+ Senior Manager. Bear in mind level of responsibility does not mirror Big4 labels in terms of Grade.

"…take everything good about Accenture" are they serious?? only thing Accenture is good at is their ability to win work, deliver an incomplete incomprehensible solution and end up in court with a law suit.

my advice: stay clear of Baringa/Accenture. seriously, pay is lousy (45-52k) consultant, (52-58k) senior consultant as they use the same framework and grading bands as Accenture. they try to sell themselves on "culture" but seriously, most of the consulting firms are great to work for and have an impressive client list so it all boils down to £££ and reputation in this current economic climate of which they have neither.

pwc, deloitte, bearing point, capgemini, pa consulting just to name a few that are much better to work for not to mention better remuneration.

don't be a sucker.

Interesting views al_emc2. You seem to know a lot about the paybands and what they are like to work for - are/were you an employee of Baringa?

Perhaps want to make your views a little more real?

From what I know of them your views of salary levels are somewhat out of kilter.

You can earn £70K a year + 15% pension in the public sector just by turning up for work each day. No pressure to deliver, no all-nighters, no stress. Just a nice fat final salary pension pot and 4.00pm finishes on a Friday.

A bit of a non sequitur perhaps, but since we're talking about the Accenture influence...

I interviewed with Baringa recently and didn't make it past the first face-to-face interview, so I don't really know what it's like to work for them. They did come across as a bit of an Accenture old boys' club: I got the impression that their 'culture' will only make sense if you're joining from Accenture (which I wasn't) so I can see how cultural fit might seem to be an issue for someone with a different background. But it's their company and their call on how best to run the show.

On an unrelated note, I have to give credit where it's due. Their internal recruiters actually bothered to phone me (gasp!) to update me on the outcome of my interview, gave me constructive feedback and a valid reason for not being selected. This might not sound like much, but if you've had the misfortune of job hunting recently, you'd know that absolutely no one does this anymore.

Right. Back to checking my inbox for the next "Unfortunately, we will not progress your application through to the next stage. Bye!".

IMO they have GREAT external PR but on the inside do act like an old boys club.
