Opportunities for those who are from Eastern Europe

Dear all,

Could You help me by advice: are there some specific firms who effectively works with people from Ukraine, hiring for projects and/or permanent positions?

Here we have Big3 offices with tiny limits of 3-4 hires a year (of 300-500 applicants), which can be even not used as no one cares, also - Big4 with advisory services and sometimes funny salaries.

Seems like obvious that under that circumstances the best choice for career would be seeking for foreign consultancies and/or headhunters, who may have there (Russia, Ukraine, other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, where Russian language remains most used for business activities). Local offices of Hudson, Hays, etc. do not actively seek for people for consultancies.

Somthing is happening to my brain today. I can't understand the posts above. Where is the first guy looking for work? In what country? Whose fanny is the second guy referring to?

Ok, my advice to the Ukrainian guy based on my understanding of the question. Just apply directly, even call them and tell that you are looking for work. That's what I did and got the job a few years ago.

Make a list of companies you want to work for and contact them one by one. If you know some current employees at your target companies, talk to them first. They'll get paid for referring you if you get the job. Only use recruiters if there is no other way to get your foot in the door.

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

Previously I had some experience of applying to consulting firms from UK and Australia, and after several phone interviews they finally told, that I have several or many good features and useful experience, but their current needs are in some othere knowledge area, so I can't be engaged for this time.

Since that I improved my knowledge by studying literature, having some experience and taking classes, so I am ready to retry application.

What is average time should I wait for a second try, but not to become annoying fly - 2-3-4-6mo?

I would worry about being annoying. Just apply whenever there is a suitable role. I would. however, wait at least 6 months to apply for another role with the same service line.
