I'm currently working for a leading MC, have close to 8yrs of consulting experience. How much should I be expecting to get in IBM S&T and what band ?
All help appreciated

You'd be looking at somewhere between [glassdoor.com] and [glassdoor.com] with band [glassdoor.com] being most common for people with 8 years experience

only if i could see the numbers here ..instead of glassdoor.com ... can u pls. type that in .. thnx

A lot is mentioned of glassdoor.com on this site but I've got two experiences that are outside of the figures provided for the companies I worked for. Would be helpful if people could share their own info and experience here.

If you add your figures to the database, then the quoted figures will match your experiences.
Simples.

if you are already in a leading MC org.. why join IBM? with your reasonably good yrs experience (I am assuming that you have a level of specialism gained from those years of experience) then you'll just end up as band 8 with maybe 55-60K base salary.. car allowance is not a guarantee as they are changing the policy on this for band 8 and lower. Also, given that they've recruited a lot of new staf in S&T, your chances of getting promoted is really tough...
finally, S&T is not doing particularly good in the past few qtrs now.. so you might just end p doing anything just to get you billable.. at most, you'll be doing PMO role in one of their SI projects...
good luck.

I've been offered £65k + £4.3k car allowance as a band 8 in GBS. Maybe I've done well by hard negotiating. I have heard that pay rises are very restricted once you join (unless you are one of the top 10%), so make sure you negotiate hard before accepting.

Thanks for your responses, atleast i get a ballpark figure around what should I be expecting and quoting. The way it looks, I can try to get something nice upfront rather than expecting a raise or a promotion soon.
