Private Equity

I have been working as a professional adviser to private equity clients for the past 4 years with a great firm, on the structuring and fundraising side, and am now hoping to transition to consultancy to work with portfolio companies rather than technical advice to the managers.

1. Thoughts?

2. Who are the best firms to apply to?

Many thanks!

1. Hope springs eternal. Nobody can take your dreams away kid. Etc.

2. Any and all of the big ones. Some claim to have a private equity advisory group, but these are all targeting the technical advice you're trying to get away from. Nobody has a stranglehold on the private equity market, mainly because functional and industry specialisations are much more significant to consultancy services.

2. Any of the strategy houses would make a good choice. As well CF/Valuation teams of Big4.
