My fact about hiring is that I never respond to so called "head hunters" who try to contact me via Linkedin. The cut and paste approach to offering totally inappropriate or undisclosed career changing opportunities really ticks me off

Fact: If your name is Tadeusz Bzhzchisezynskiy your CV goes straight to rubbish.

hmmm, though none can resist the temptation to offer an interview to Tad Bisky...

The moment I read the word 'dynamic' in a CV I stop reading it.
|
one CV took me to that and then beyond - "from an early age I have been a consistent overachiever"; had them in just for a laugh

Was interviewing a guy once and he was doing okay until he pronounced that he 'bleeds technology'... :-(

Straight into the bin. Don't worry about your Data Protection Rights old son, completely redundant in your case.

Any application claiming "detail-orientation" or "excellent communication skills" will demonstrate the precise opposite.

any word which does not directly contribute to selling you. Each word on a CV should earn its place in the page. I won't flatter much of what I see as 'waffle'... utter drivel is closer to it.
Easier to state what a CV should never have a recruiter/hiring manager say: ' Prove it!'.
'I am a vastly experienced troubleshooter who leads from the front and inspires my team' etc etc etc.
That's 4 things I want you to prove in less than one sentence of drivel. Imagine what the CV is like. If I don't see some proof my halfway down the page you've just written yourself off.
And if you are going to quantify your experience as immense/vast/unparalled/unrivalled etc etc then you had better be Gates, Diamond or Jobs, otherwise you just look like an exaggerator and I then start to think what else you have exaggerated.
