Are MBB associate salaries structured such that a non-MBA hire (or indeed an internal promote) would be paid the same as someone joining with an MBA? Or is there an MBA premium?

The base salary is exactly the samez, regardles whether you're an mba hire, an industry hire or have been promoted internally.
What differs is the sign-on bonus: usually higher for mbas
