Last stage interview with partner

Wannabe

Hello all,

I was hoping to get some pointers from this fourm on things to watch out for and things to prepare for in my Interview with a couple of partners/senior managers for a graduate role.

The HR lady didn't say much except that it was to check my suitablity within the team.

I am from a non finance background. Would saying that I find the new role interesting and challenging be a good enough answer?

You won't be giving yourself the best shot if you just state that you find the role interesting and challenging (for one, how would you know if you havent done the job before? they might even ask you this).

You need to tie your experience in to the role in specifics, and explain WHY the role will be interesting/challenging (and try to include something about why the challenge itself will be interesting).

going for a role in investment with a non-finance background, you should prepare for questions on how much of a challenge you assess that as and exactly how you would look to bridge that gap

Many thanks Mars A Day and rc.

Those are definitely some probing and difficult questions. Thanks for the inputs.
