I had a BS in Mechanical Engineering from a top Chinese university. I then worked as a manufacuting engiener for 3 years. I went to the US and got a a master in Industrial Engineering and worked for a blue chip company as manufacturing engineer for two years. I went back to school and got a PhD in Industrial Engineering. I then started a failed a technology company. After that, I went to work for Microsoft Research and now am an assistant professor in the top Chinese engineering university.
I am interested in getting into the consulting business. My plan is to get into a consulting company which has manufacturing engineering focus. I have a PhD and 5 years of manufacturing engineering expereince.
I am interested in working in the US or Canada or China. I have a Chinese passport and Canada PR status.
What are my chances of getting into the consulting business?
Thanks for the advise.
