haunted by not good IB-grades/A-levels

unhappy

I am wanting to get into consultancy.

I have a Ph.D. and a upper sencond class B.Sc. degree.

However, my school leaving exams were not great.

The equivalent of BBD for A-levels.

Does anyone know if that will effect my chances of getting into a good consulting firm such as Accenture, McKinsey or BCG? How important are my school leaving grades now that I have a Ph.D??

Thank you for your advice!

Hi. I have exactly the same grades as you and a 2:1 BSc{hons. Doing an MSc part time. I'm a mangement consultant for Accenture. I did 1 and half years on a grad development scheme for an MoD research agency then joined accenture as a consultant above the grads that had graduated the same year as me as I had lots of client experience. Once you get some good experience under your belt, your grades will matter less. They seem to just count for that initial grad recruitment stage. You also have a Ph.D so you're obviously no fool! If you can't get in now, I'd get a foot in somewhere you can get good experience then look to move to a big company after a year or two. This is just my personal experience so not gospel! Good luck. Kev
