I'm not quite sure what you mean by "core competencies", but at the highest level, as stated in our advertising slogans, they are "Consulting, Technology, Outsourcing".
In terms of Operating Group to join, think about the following:
- Where do you want to work? Regardless of which OG you join, you can't decide this, but you can change the odds: If you join FS, then you might be working for a Capital Markets client in London, but you might end up working for an Insurance client in the boonies. If you join Resources, you might be sent to Aberdeen onto an oil platform, or to Lagos in Nigeria. If you join Products, you might be on Sainsbury's in London.
- If you were to leave (or get thrown out from) Accenture in 5 or 10 years, what industry would you like to work in? (think about industry salaries and locations).
- As far as I know, promotions, training and salaries are pretty much standard accross the OGs.
About the probability of getting through the assessment: There are no quotas. If everyone in the room is good enough to get through, they will get through.
(And by the way, ATS is not a service line)
