#1 Recent MBA grad. Does it make sense to do a Diploma in Mgmt Consulting?

Nik

Hi:

I'm an MBA grad with concentrations in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland. My career experience has primarily been IT Consulting (mainly Telecoms) and I've been trying without much success to break into the UK Management Consulting market. I've been trying to network (and I've signed up for the Sept 24 event btw) and have had one informational interview to date with others in the works.

To cut a long story short, a friend suggested I look into a Diploma in Management Consulting since I was not a management consultant prior to my MBA and did not graduate from Harvard et al even though Maryland is a top 25 US business school (depends on who's ranking :-)). I'm curious as to how much weight the top firms would place in such a diploma.

I would appreciate some thoughts on the matter.

Nik
