Which firms do I realistically stand a chance at?

#1 Which firms do I realistically stand a chance at?

Realworld

My background:

A-Levels: AABc

Undergraduate: BSc Economics & Management - 2:1 (Aston Business School)

Post graduate: MSc Business Analystics & Consulting (Warwick Business School)

I will be graduating from Warwick this year so results are pending. This will be my first graduate role.

Based on my academics, which tier firms should I aim for? Is MBB a possibility?

Forget MBB, absolutely no chance. Even in a buoyant market you'd not get an interview; and in the current market... If you doubt me, go and ask the Aston careers service how many alumni have secured offers with McKinsey.

Focus instead on the major global full service firms. Their hiring volumes are on a different plain and they therefore fish from a much broader pool.

Ciao MIaow to Realist (#2)

Realist - you should clearly go to the Aston Alumni page and you will see the calibre of the opportunities the graduates of Aston have gone on to profit from.

To name just few:

> TalkTalk

> TUI Travel

> Apotex Inc

Case closed!!!

My tip is - never stop trying - and you'll suceed. I thank my lucky stars that I never listened when everyone was telling me "Bert - get RID of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum - and move into the 90s"! I showed them! "Call me old fasioned, but does the Commodore '64 give me support for Jet Set Willy? Chuckie Egg? Dizzy? I think not...

no reason why you couldn;t get into any firm such as acn, capgem, kpmg, deloitte etc, but MBB is unlikely.

BIG4 + ACN as mentioned but also niche system integrators and BI centric consultancies. Even leftfield financial service providers like Markit are a possibility. Realistically need at least an MBA to even get through CV screening at the MBB.
