Can anyone advise on on typical percentage increases/ salary levels for consultant level at Accenture within grade i.e. c1>c2?

I'm currently a C1.

Are you any good? Will vary depending on your performance rating, market conditions etc etc. Probably nothing if you get CW and a range from not very much to something from A through VT.

Well as a C1 i'm unlikely to get a very top due to the internal politics of putting C3's at the top and also, generally not being as good as them due to experience/ role but I reckon an above is do-able, interested to know what % is for CW and A and SA. Thanks.

I think you can be optimistic, but don't get your hopes up for an above - I know Accenture UK have something of a backlog at the moment - even with the mid-year promotions. In fact, and this is something I remember being told as an anlayst in Accenture UK - don't be concerned that you get a Consistent with as a 1st year at level. In fact, this is testament to that fact that you are consistently performing as a Consultant. Be comfortable in your level - get good - and then start pushing for the next. In terms of Salary - it's no massive leap - potentially 3-4 grand....

Times are far from typical at the moment, but in the good years an A payrise could be 8-10%, SA 10-18%, VT up to 20% or more depending on practice and market rates. The market rate bit is important - big firms never pay increases in a vacuum - salary bands are always tested against both demand for a skillset and "churn" for a particular practice.

Also, do not be satisfied with "coasting" and landing a CW even in your C1 year, as your salary progression may be even more important than your career progression as a benchmark of future success. This highly technical document explains further: http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/2010-03-07/

I've definately not been coasting but being realistic when looking at the fact that C1's usually are given CW almost by default. On that basis the pay rise looks really low.

Even if it was 3 or 4 k increase that's only 45k which is still about 10k below 'market rate', based on the top consultant report and more relevantly, the postions recruiters keep calling up with.

I was more under the impression C2 pay would be about 48-50k?

Accenture to anon (#7)

Hi, I am at Accenture and was a C1 a couple of years ago. Agree with the point of aiming high. As a C1 I got SA, got a good pay rise and was advised of pursuing Accelerated Promotion, which in the end didn't happen as the market deteriorated. Regarding salaries, it is difficult to compare, as a C2 I had over 50k, but times & market were different. As you know we had no pay rises last year and I suspect they will be low this year.

As a C2 I was on 47k (above rating as a C1). I'm C3 now with the same salary as there were no payrises last year.

I'm in MCIM BTW

Do you really think they'll be lower? I thought they would have been quite hefty given a) the pay freeze of last year and b) the fact that everyone is quitting to get paid better elsewhere!

Maybe i'm being optimistic. The benefits of consulting over industry are fast disappearing!
