Can someone out there give me a feel for the types of projects that capco is currently involved in within capital markets - ie, are they strategic in nature? some examples (excluding client names of course) would be great
also, some views of how they rank against other players in the capcital markets consulting space would helpful

UK Example: Supporting a client in redefining its global BPM Framework and developing a Strategic Implementation Roadmap.
Not pure strategy (MBB style), more the link between strategy and implementation.

Jeff,
As you can see from the responses above, CapCo are also more successful than most firms in re-using what they learn from previous projects.
|
ask a lot of questions - capco is in turmoil and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. being bodyshopped for a year or two is the real risk you run
|
insider - interesting post. can you give any more detail on what you mean by turmoil?
|
Shortly, a small number of partners and directors are due to leave Capco and join one of the Big 4.
|
Thank you for your comments.
I am interested to hear views on the route cause of why capco is experiencing problems at the moment (turmoil, staff churn) - ie, greater competition within FS consulting, lack of strong leadership, market pressures etc
also, is there any part of the business that is experiencing more problems than others. Is body shopping experienced more in capital markets rather than wealth management for example, are issues being experienced on the integration or business consulting side?

I am interested to hear from people on how Capco is viewed in comparison to the FS practices of big 4 firms

Just be careful who you listen to about Capco, as it is in a state of change globally. It's true that they have lost a couple of partners recently to the Big 4, at the same time their backers are putting serious investment into the firm and they have made some very impressive hires from industry in the USA. Apparently the plan is to replicate this in the UK and there is a VERY impressive partner about to come on board as well as some industry hires.

would welcome any additions examples of capco projects over the past 12 months.

Now that did make me laugh! Re-use to the max. Brilliant confidence booster! Shall I post just the once?
