Not wanting to waste anyones time, straight to the point. How recognised is it to be amongst one of the golden key members - top 10 percent of university students. I dont think I have done extremely well in my studies, could have done alot better but I have received a letter to join this society with a hafty fee attached.
Is it worth it? Do employees regard this as something extraordinary and will you gain a better chance being part of this society against another individual who is not recognised.
Spelling and grammar police - mind the punctuation errors if any. Thanks

What matters is experience, member ship and participation in student associations in your field, community service, self sufficiency(ie worked to put yourself through college), and a continuous track record toward a goal. If you're in the top % of your class, list it. You shouldn't have to purchase acomplishments. Hope this helps.

Some may disagree, however I know that many of my peers have become members. Perhaps it is more recognised in Australia?
Depending on the fee (probably just to cover ongoing administration) - anything to help you get a leg up on the competition is probably worth the effort.

Never heard of it until it came up here. Judge its value in the UK from that. It may be different in other countries.

Sounds like a really smart 'C' student found a way to take money from the special kind of of 'A' students that went to some bottom tier unis

Never heard of it, myself until I wiki'ed it this morning. Up to you if the fees are worth the extra half-line in the CV or the "networking opportunities" with Bill Clinton and Desmond Tutu? (Honorary members - wonder if they have to stump up for fees as well?)

Pay me a heftty fee and I'll send you a letter to join the Mars A Day Strategy Round Table (More Oval Actually) Society. I'll give you a certificate I whip up on my laptop with a nice heraldic looking header if you want one.
Worth about the same.

Forget the Gold society.
For just £450 per annum, you can join the "Dave's exclusive PLATINUM KEY SOCIETY" of which I am currently el Presidente. Cheque or cash will be fine.
