No wonder management consultants have such a bad name now

#1 No wonder management consultants have such a bad name now

MC

Havent used this forum a while now and I now remember why I stopped using it

Judging by the posts that are displayed on this forum it seems like the average person here is a bitter, underpaid so called management consultant that has nothing better to do than to post rubbish and non-contructive messages that help no one..

No wonder the industry has gone seriously downhill if these are the kind of people that now work in it

Some king of vetting system must be introduced to turn this back into a useful site so that not any old tom, dick and harry and come and be so obstructive

Rant over

LOL, given that thread 60501 was created before you created this new one, can we deduce that you the person being referred to in thread 60323? ;-)

Tony R - the vetting idea is a good one. You should be looking to see how you can encourage people like MC to engage again.

Tony Restell (Top-Consultant.com) to Forum Fan (#4)

MC - thanks for the post. You'll see from my post earlier today "Forum moderation" that I'm totally in agreement with you. The contributions of a minority are undermining the valid discussions that people are trying to have on here. Please do keep checking back in the next days and I would hope you'll see a marked improvement in the quality of discussion

Thanks for letting me know Tony although I dont think that is sustainable on your part as its simply too much time, headache and effort on your part to go through all the posts and make the ammendments.

Can I make a suggestion.. For those of you that use linked in, you will know that when you join a certain group...The group owner needs to review you and then grant you acces to join the group. Would it be possible to have something here? There are other options as well, but this website has loads of potential and is the only real one of its kind so its worth developing...

I for one think that it may be worth charging a small annual membership fee to use this forum so that only serious users will bother joining.

Vetting/moderation sounds an excellent idea. I would however sugges that any form of charge would not be constructive and may seriously jeopardise rather than improve the quality of open discussion.

anon - in the new spirit of making this forum as useful as possible it would be helpful if you could say how you know this. For example, are you a current or former KPMGer. I know that people can fib to put down competitors but we can weigh up the value of particular posts each time.

Thanks.
