i am a management consultant myself and can I just say, in principle, setting up this forum was an excellent idea and has at times be helpful to me personally.
Ive used this forum a lot in the past like most people as a information source and a forum to voice opinion
However, it seems that when a question is posted which asks for general help and comments, morons who have apparently nothing better to do with their time reply with completely non-constructive, non value adding input...
please stop wasting peoples times and its probably you lot that are given management consultants a bad name now
Rant over

Nice constructive contribution to the debate there....
|
Actually I think it is a great contribution and captures the main problem with this site.
|
I enjoy the mixed bunch of responses. A number of them are extremely witty. So long as they don't come at the expense of useful advice, I don't see the problem.
Incidentally, does anyone know how many users there are on this forum? Unique hits per week or something?
|
Just 1 user posing over and over again under different names! Oh there I go replying to my own questions again.....but then again only I'm going to read them!

"non value adding input..."
Spoken like a true (non-value adding consultant), could have stuck in an "alignment" and "business driver" somewhere in that slide deck too? Do you work for PA?
|
6 posts until someone drops in a PA dig and completely validates the first post, brilliant!
|
I used to work for PA too, but now engage in client facing, commercially driven delivery in the food retail sector. I flip burgers in McDs
|
I like the irony of threads like this. I seem to remember there is a name for this kind of thing.
It's quite possible that anon asked a foolish question and got silly answers, and is angry with the forum for not providing proactive, personalised advice that meets his exact requirements, even though he doesn't at this exact moment in time know exactly what it was that he wanted.
Being able to vent with your peers is an important function of a discussion forum like this. Not all of us want to engage in anodyne discussion about senior manager salary bands at EY.

Thank you Sir, as you see, I am one of those consultants who really does "value-add" and am in "alignment" with my clients' needs on this forum.....most obviously!
