I just saw someone refer to himself as a Principal at Capgemini Consulting. Never heard of that grade - how does it relate to EC and VP? p.s. spare the cracks along the line of 'there are no principles in any consultancy' .... !

Cap just renamed the 'Executive Consultant' title to 'Principle Consultant'. It's the C5 grade i think.

Principal was not an official title (at least in the UK - other offices used it) when I was there a couple of years ago - and this person has just changed their title from Executive Consultant to Principal, which suggests some distinction being made. or maybe ECs are becoming Principals to fall in line with the rest of the European practices.

Principally speaking to vj (#1)

All the crap of VP/partner level, at the grade below. Ever increasing sales targets, with a decreasing bonus pool. No wonder our VPs get their asses kicked by Deloittes, ACN, etc etc
