"I have three years work experience: I began my career as a strategy analyst at a Big Four consultancy and have spent the past two years as an Analyst at a bulge-bracket investment bank."
Translation: I quit after 1 year at the big4 when I thought IB was on the up and regretted it dearly when the promised $$$'$$$'s didn't materialise.
"I am thinking about transitioning back into consulting, but only under the following conditions: (1) I land a job at a top firm and (2) I am able to start as a Consultant / Associate (4th year equivalent)."
Translation: somehow have to fool the recruiters into thinking my 1 yr Big4 and 2 yrs at IB count for "real" experience.
You'd be lucky to get in as a 1st year consultant - most consultancies divide outside experience by 2 when considering EH.
