How is the market (or will be in 12 months) for MBA graduates for top european business schools? Still possible to change career into MC, especially MBB?
|
The MC job market has definitely picked up from 12months ago and looks as though it will continue in that direction - bar any major surprises!
By the time you finish your MBA in 12months, I would imagine the job market will be in relatively rude health.

I don't understand why, twenty years after MBAs became a commodity, people still want to do an MBA. It really adds nothing - two years decent work experience will give you much more credibility with employers.
You are far better off doing a technical masters degree or qualification (such as CIMA or PRINCE2).
Why waste 2 years and £50k ?

I am going for a one year MBA. Why I am doing it:
- MBB would not talk to me without it
- I know almost nothing about business
- I already have a technical masters
- I can afford it :-)

Thanks for your reponses.

Which b-school rejected you then?

No.

@The Goober
"You are far better off doing a technical masters degree or qualification (such as CIMA or PRINCE2)"
when your are an IT monkey maybe. but some people have higher ambitions than spending their lives delivering shitty and useless IT projects.
For those who want to become a strategy consultant an MBA is often a pre-requisite. And it's not a commodity. It will be when morons like you have one

This is a good time to do an MBA if you are long-term unemployed or have an inadequate/damaged CV in such a way that it prevents you getting MBB interviews. Otherwise, you are best to apply direct and benefit from the upswing.
