Re: Australian consultancies

Hi

I`m currently in Melbourne and would like advice on Management consulting companies in Oz. Due to my age, i would require Employer sponsorship.

My background is Food/FMCG manufacturing (with global firm), some lean training/experience, with MBA. Did some Productivity improvement consultancy for a while about 15 years ago.

Areas of interest would be Operations, Leadership Development and Change Management.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Most of the big 4 are in town, but most would want to be reassured you qualify for some form of visa before progressing. Deloitte have a strong practice in the areas you have some experience in, but EY and PWC are there in force too. Local firms, like WD SCott, may be a better option as they will not be able to transfer so much tallent around the world.

Most firms do offer internal transfers and sponsor people that way - so a longer play is to come back here, join a UK firm with an Australian arm and swap time zones after a couple of years - pretty sure that is a way to be sponsored.

yeah i agree with andy...in this market, they wont really look at you unless you have some kind of visa already. Best bet , if you are overseas, is to try and get your company to do an internal transfer from overseas office to their australian office.
