Jonny

Folks

I see E&Y are recruiting for defence, security and resilience.

Can anyone provide any insight on this? How they are doing? Where does it sit in E&Y?

I can't see much on their website.

Deloitte also.

But what is the risk of government cutbacks hitting defence and security

Analysis I've seen is of government cutting back on traditional defence spend areas (arms, tanks, guns, bullets, rockets, radios, flak jackets, etc) but less of an impact (and perhaps even an increase) in intelligence/security spend to counteract terrorism.

Almost on eyear ago BAE bought Detica with this in mind - traditional arms provider buying a niche consultancy that derives most of its income and almost all growth from software that detects fraud/terrorism/illegal immigration, etc.

Also - there are very few suppliers of this sort of consultancy, so even if spend is curtailed, demand is likely to be enough to keep those few experts in gravy.

As long as you like all the secret squirrel baggage that goes with this line of work, go for it.

Ex-PA to Mr Cool (#3)

Is this where Bjorn Conway went? PA's defense practice has really struggled without him.
