Is my background suitable for a top MBA?

Hi,

I am interested in applying for a full-time MBA at a top school such as LBS/INSEAD.

I have 3 years strategy consulting experience for a Big 4 firm, and I have been working as a Strategy Analyst for a telcommunications services firm (annual revenues c. £80 m) for 1 year now. I would say that my performance has been in line with my peer group throughout my career.

I would welcome your thoughts on whether schools such as LBS/INSEAD are feasible options for me?

Yes, I'm sure they would welcome you with open arms! Only a fool would turn away a brand new customer with £30-40K to spend on their services.

Do people employed in smaller/medium sized firms get into top MBA schools?

Don't believe the hype. It really isn't as hard to get in as they like to pretend, but the myth is then sustained and propagated by their graduates.
