MBA Scheme?

#1 MBA Scheme?

research

Hi,

I am looking to start an MBA in the next year. I have three years experience in consulting, but don't know if this is good enough to get into EMBA schemes?

Was looking at Cranfield as an option for a full time MBA, do they have a good reputation? or should I only look at the top 15/20?

thanks for your advice

You generally need more experience for EMBA than fulltime MBA courses. Three years is on the low side (for either MBA or EMBA).

Cranfield has a good reputation, but your requirements may vary. The more and better quality your work experience, the less you need to rely on league tables and brand name schools to establish your credibility. Similarly, if you're looking at an MBA as a starting point for your career-proper then it's more important to find a course that will imbue your CV with an identity.

Do you know of any companies that sponsor or assist you to get an MBA? For example, pay for it all or part of it or give you time off etc.

yes, many of the consulting / IB firms, but you have to be a top performer to be considered. For me its not the cash, although this would help but the benefits after completing.

I would advise towards a fulltime with only 3 yrs experience, even a 2 year programme...you have time. Don't rush what will be a fantastic period of your life at the expense of career, career, career. Also if you're a Brit...get out of the UK bubble and learn about working with the wider world...this will hold you in good stead for the future. The mba is a longterm investment not a hit and run. Good Luck

I can not be a hit and run and many companys you will go back in at the same grade after the MBA as before.

thanks for the advice Harry.

I was actually looking at the 17 month course in Singapore, which is run by NUS. They seem to have a good reputation and focus on Asian markets, which interests me. Does anyone have any information on the school/course?

cheers

I have not heard of them but if you're looking at singapore don't discount Insead as it definately has a great brand in Asia and Europe (if not the best of the one yr courses)

Hi,

I am currently enrolled in the FTMBA programme at Cranfield. There is a number of partial scholarships here which a number of my colleagues have received.

Before coming here I considered NUS for its MSc Real Estate Programme. The full course costs 4,000 US$ only. If you need further info regarding Cranfield please let me know

AG
