How much is your total reward really worth?

#1 How much is your total reward really worth?

Jo

I'm trying to figure out the overall reward package for the major consultancies to help me figure out whether I can leave my current job and move to something that's potentially more rewarding even if the salary is the same.

I'd like to factor in the overall reward including annual leave, travel / car allowance, max employers pension contribution etc.

Please could you help me by confirming:

1. Your firm

2. Your base salary (in pounds)

3. Your cashable bonus in pounds as a percentage of base salary (net of any employer deductions e.g. Employers NI)

4. The standard annual leave entitlement in days

5. Any annual travel / car allowance paid (in pounds)

6. The percentage paid by the employer into a pension scheme as a non contributory payment

In return, I'll take the numbers, adjust for annual leave etc and then plonk a graph on the web to show everyone how the reward packages stack up.

I'll start the ball rolling:

1. Deloitte

2. 63,150

3. 10%

4. 25 days + 1 directors day

5. £5,500

6. 5%

i.e. my overall reward is 123% of base salary.

Thanks!

Can we add age into that mix too please?

Add age - how insecure are you?

Forget Age, what would be really useful would be to add job title as well. I know there is already a survey on top-consultant about this but it doesn't hurt to have a thread to show the current status

Don't do consultancy as such but:

1. Public sector

2. 79K

3. nowt

4. 31 days

5. nowt

6. dunno - final salary, so probably worth about 25-35% of salary in the current climate

I reckon this works out about £100K+ or so equivalent. Not bad for a job that I can leave at 5:30 everyday. Oh, and flexitime with accrued leave as well ;-)

i'm not sure what this is going to achieve... we already know that some companies offer loads of benefits - pension, car, medical, more holidays, childcare, bigger bonuses, shorter working hours, etc - whereas some pay you a salary and that's it. surely the way to find out whether you can do better on your current deal is to find a few specific jobs you're interested in and then compare them on their individual merits?

Jo - what grade are you? £63k seems too low for manager and too high for SC?

From Jo's package, I would say that he/she is a manager.

26 days hols?

Is this usual ? At PA we only get 23, but our partners let you "buy" extra days if you want. That's nice of them

You should reciprocate, and let them "buy" any additional time they require outside your contracted hours.

1. Big 4

2. 58,000

3. 18%

4. 25 days

5. 4,500

6. 5%

So that's 130% of base. Don't reckon bonus will be 18% this year, though :-(
