Hey guys,
Did anyone take the OW tests last Friday? How did you guys find it - I though the verbal reasoning was okay, but the numerical bits were impossible! GMAT books were quite helpful though, though some of it you just had to know the maths for... Does anyone know when we'll hear back?

Hey. I went this morning. The evrbal reaosning was alright but hello negatively marked?? what the hell!!!..my group hears abck tomorrow or wednesday and first round interviews are on friday. The lady made it seem as thought everyone will be called back on friday. she just announced ''so ok guys first round interivews are on friday'' and everyone was just looking at each other..lol
I took the test online, but found the math part very challaning and made about 18/30 answers...
Have you heared back from them yet?
those tests are ridiculous! what ever happened to good old SHL!?
stupid negative marking.
yeah i don't know what advantage there is to negatively marking stuff, other than to stop people guessing - i bet what happened otherwise is that everyone would just guess the last ten or so answers cos no one would have time to finish. But then, why don't they just put fewer/a more realistic number of qqs on the test? Oh well.
and it would have been nice to take the tests on line instead of in their office - less pressurised environment and also, you can read stuff aloud which i find really helps.
Has anyone done the civil service tests, they're quite similar but more graph based. I found those much easier in terms of difficulty and number of questions - though still very tricky (and not negatively marked either!)
Indeed - the last thing you want to do before taking the test is meet loads of other people who are all as nervous as you!
Would some of you guys consider turning down MBBs for Oliver Wyman?
Guys
In my experience the tests are made difficult on purpose -this is so that they can actually use the test to find out who is worthy of further assessment.
There would not be much point if everyone who took the test was able to finish it and get a reasonably high score. And seeing as the majority of people taking the tests are pretty intelligent (you'd think), the tests need to be tailored such that they derive some sort of normal distribution
Ooooooh, these bastards.
It's not a numerical reasoning test, it requires you to know those mathematical concepts. They might be primitive, but the clock is ticking..and you can get a negative score!
Frustrated.
Perhaps its a test to find out to what degree you choose to take an action that might give you a negative result if you screw it up.
More of a psychology test.

Hey all, whilst researching the Oliver Wyman test this morning, look what I found. JobTestPrep have created a test practice pack dedicated to the Oliver Wyman tests. Could be worth a look....
