Move to HR Consulting in London from Middle East

Don

Hi guys,

Currently I am working in one of the Big 4 in Middle East HR advisory as a Manager. I see vacancies in consulting firms in London (even on this site) but when you apply, some recruitment consultants say that you need a HSMP first.

Is that the only route cause its expensive and time consuming. Are there any firms in London which anyone knows off, which hire purely based on profile and not where you are located?

Based on your experiences, please advice

Thanks!

Hi.

I moved to the UK last year and had a similar profile. It is better if you can get the HSMP first (known as Tier 1 General now) since most UK employers won't be interested in sponsoring a work permit, especially now when the economy seems to be in doldrums and there are rumours of redundancies/ hiring freeze in many consulting firms. Your profile is ofcourse important but only when you have first managed the legal right to work i.e HSMP. Hope it answers your question. Just my two pence!!
